25 Conscience aka Dr Thornton

I'd like to see the captain on duty. Oh, God. Tell him it's Dr. Thornton.

Dr. Thornton? Yes. That was a minute. Captain Wells. Is it on, doesn't it? Yes. Oh, hello, Captain. Dr. Thornton, do you see your sir? Okay, sir. Right down the corner. The second door to your left, Dr. Jones.

Yes, thank you. Captain Wells? Yes. I'm Dr. Thornton. Well, I'm coming on this. Take that chair over there. Thank you. Captain Wells, I want you to find my wife. Your wife is meeting? Well, yes. Of course it may be...

Well, I don't know. Where did you see her at? The night before last. He left me waiting at the lobby of the Churchill Hotel. And I haven't seen her since. Why, having reported the matter sooner.

Well, I kept thinking she'd return. You see, well, we weren't on exactly friendly terms when she left. I thought she was probably trying to punish me. What do you mean by that? I meant that we'd been arguing.

You know, one of those husband and wife affairs. I didn't consider the matter serious, But when I called all our friends and they hadn't seen her and she didn't come home today, I thought it was best to notify the police.

There, so you did exactly right. You know of any reason for her disappearance? Yes, I do. She carried $160,000 in her handbag. What? It was carrying $160,000 in her purse when she disappeared. And you waited almost two days to notify the police?

I'd try to explain how it was. I thought that she was just staying away from home to make me worry. Just a minute, doctor. Come in, Bradford. Sit down. This is Dr. Songham. How do you do?
