What is it? Another case for Nick Carter. Master Detective. Yes, it's another case. For that most famous of all man-hudders, the detective whose ability at solving crime is unequaled in the history of detective fiction, Nick Carter, master detective.

Tonight's curious adventure. The drug ring murder. Or Nick Carter. Well, Mr. Nicholas Carter, are you going to answer your telephone? Or are you going to take me out to lunch, as you promised? There's no reason why I can't do both, fancy.

Nick Carter speaking. This is Riley at headquarters. Oh, how are you, Lieutenant? There goes the line. It's on your mind. Murder. When you're right in the middle of it, Nick, meet me at the city bar as quick as you can.

I'm waiting here. That's a matter, Riley. Can't headquarters solve this case without me? Who said anything about yourself in the case? You get yourself down to the morgue right away and that's an order. An order, Riley.

What are you talking about? The body of a man was washed up on the beach this morning. Only he didn't die from drowning. It was murder. Yes? No identification on the body, none at all.

Except one of your business cards. Nick Carter, private detective. What? I hid the card in my pocket as soon as I laid eyes on it. But there's a chance one of the reporters saw it before I did.

Now do I have to draw your diagram? You've already done it. I'll be there in the double rally. Bye. What's up, me? Plenty. Look, Patsy, hold on the office and tell you hear for me.

I'll call you within an hour. I knew you shouldn't have answered that, home. Business before pleasure, Patsy. And right now, I've got business at the city of Mord. Oh, Mord. We've got him, Riley. And a slab out here.
