Lux presents Hollywood. Lever Brothers Company, makers of Lux Flakes, brings you the Lux Radio Theatre, starring Pat O'Brien and Lynn Barry in Crack Up. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr. William Kealey. Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen.
As we approach another year, we naturally think in terms of something new and different. And tonight we bring you a special favorite of the screen, Pat O'Brien, in a new and thrilling drama, and for Pat, a very different sort of role.
In RKO's psychological mystery, Crack Up, he appears as a man whose temporary mental blindness threatens his entire life, turns trust into suspicion, love to doubt. Co-starred with Pat is the talented and beautiful Lynn Barry, who adds a note of romance to this rapid fire story of murder and conspiracy.
Before our curtain rises, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Motion Picture Studios and the many stars who have provided us with such fine entertainment during 1946. For their cooperation, we extend our heartiest thanks, and our sincere good wishes for a happy and successful New Year. And I am sure that if Lux Flakes could speak for themselves,
they'd also take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy 1947. Certainly they'll help to make it happy, as they always have, by lessening your labors and lengthening the life of your nice things. In fact, for those nice things, I'd say Lux Flakes and Happy New Year mean about the same thing. Once again our curtain rises as we present Act
One of Crack Up, starring Pat O'Brien as George Steele and Lynn Barrie as Terry Caudel with Lester Matthews as Treban. It's 11 o'clock at night and in New York's Police Headquarters Lieutenant Detective Cochran is on the telephone.
