And our total decorima was Jake Harill Nash and Michael Rotomme in A Medal for Benny. Ladies and gentlemen, your guest producer, Mr. Urban Pipso. Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen. A good story is timeless, so it may take time to be appreciated.

The incident behind tonight's play occurred after the First World War. The Jack Wagner, the writer who tried to sell the play to Hollywood, had no success. A few years ago he happened to repeat the story to his friend John Steinbeck, whose enthusiasm whipped it up to date and led to Paramount's unusual and moving drama, A Medal for Benny.

Starring Dorothy LeMour and Arthur Odecordova was J. Carol Nash and Michaela Rousumne in their original screen roles. I had the privilege of directing a medal for Benny, and we filmed most of the action in picturesque community a few miles from this stage.

So spotlessly clean. It's curtain time, and here's the first act of a medal for Benny, starring Dorothy LaMour as Lolita and our thorough decorator as Joe, with J. Carol Nash as Charlie and Michael Risme as Raphael.
