Well, Lum is still trying to bring the sales method of their Johnum Downstorm up to date by studying the book they recently purchased on modern salesmanship.

However, he's having a difficult time trying to teach Abner the underlying principles. As we're looking on the little community today, we find the old fellows down at their Jotam Down store discussing the results of their efforts.

Granny's lacking in understanding, Abner. We've had this book for two days now, and our business ain't increased a bit. Well, that advertised me and said that feller and Clinton Highway increased his business 72% in two days long.

I know it. I know it. And if anything, our business has fallen off. You ain't been reading that book back, had you. Of course not. Maybe we ain't given enough time yet, Abner. One thing we had enough customers to work it on. Well, I've been trying out that cherry greeting and all that on everybody

comes in. But they all start backing off like their species of me. Well, I believe you've been overdoing that, Abner. Like Yisti, when you greeted Mamie C. Strink, whenever she come in here, slapped her on the back hard enough to mount an ocabreath out of her. I I don't think we order slap women folks on the back when you greet them.

Well that looks like customers never said what time. Well I think that's caring things too further though. I believe by the time we get through reading a whole book our sales will start picking up.
