The Village Store, Joan Davis, proprietor, Jack Haley Manager. Read broadcast especially for you soldiers, sailors, marines and coast guardsmen. Now here's the star and proprietor of the Village Store, Joan Davis. Thank you girls.
You know it's so wonderful to appear here before you girls for a change. You know I am a painted army camp and all those men think about as women's. Here it's different. You waves have something more important to think about.
Men! The moderners and their authentic Movenauer program with the bright popular favorite. Put your arms around me, honey! Put your arms around me, honey! Hold me tight! Paddle up and cuddle up with all your might!
You go like that! Look at me, my heart begins to flow! Not like that! As we're looking on Joan, Davis and Jack Haley, they're on their way back to Joan's Hotel.
Jack has just beat a Joan to lunch at the Auto-Mats. Gee, Jack, they have a very peculiar way of serving coffee at the Auto-Mats, don't they? What do you mean? Well, of course you have to put a nickel in the slot and pull a lever before the coffee comes out.
What's wrong with that? Well, by the time I climbed up on the shelf, twisted my neck around and got my mouth under the box and the coffee was all gone. Oh, Joanie, Gee, you're a regular hick.
If anybody knows you're supposed to get up on the shelf first, then open your mouth and then put the nickel in. Say, Jack, let's walk a little faster. I have a date at the hotel with an eminent psychologist.
He's going to help me prepare for an examination. What examination? Well, you might as well know I'm going to join the wave. Yes, sir. What do you think of that? You will wave. Why, you'd look like a jenny than any of the first platoire.
