Gambler's Luck

It's an adventure we call Gander's luck and it began with a cattle drive. This particular drive was one of the roughest and toughest we were ever on, but right up to almost the last one of the nicest. It was fun because we were on an errand of mercy, you might say. Our destination was the horseshoe outfit near the headwaters of the teatons. The horseshoe was owned by Ham Irish and he says to Emma, Ham and Emma were old friends of ours.

Ham and Emma were all friends of ours, but we haven't seen them in years. I wouldn't miss this for nothing, Hoppy. When we show up with all this beef stuff, the look on Ham and Emma's faces is going to be a sight to behold.

Yeah, like the eyes of California, but when I see them, they're going to get a piece of my mind. You ain't mad at them, are you? Why shouldn't that be? They got in trouble, why didn't they tell us?
