(SA) Operation Guinea Pig

Adventure! Tonight's story is entitled Operation guinea pig by Terrence Cohen Hello, we bla... Thomas Mithers Haven't seen your sister... when was it?

The war! Yeah, about that. Hop in, we can stop at a pub for a snort. Oh, time's sake, eh? Oh, good idea. I was out for a walk. I gotta get the weight down, you know.

Beards be just the thing. Blazer with my diet. Don't meet up with old army buddy every day. House tricks. Oh, fine, fine. Talking over the war I saw old Jonesy yesterday. Haven't seen him in years. Haven't he's changed.

I gave him a lift too as it happens. Saw him in the high street waiting for a bus. We chatted, you know about this and that. Then when we got around to the war, we had to do a strange thing.

Where does white as a sheet as they say? And demanded I stop the car then and let him out. Well, last I saw of him, he was hurrying into a crowd muttering to himself. At least that's the way it looked.

I am not surprised, Tom. Neither am I, poor devil. I suppose it was being a prisoner of war that shot his nerves up like this. Anyway, you should know better than most old men. Singing on the planning stuff.

You arrange that raid, didn't you? I... I helped Tom. He wasn't being a prisoner of war that made him like that, or something else. Thank heavens, it didn't in my conscience. Sounds intriguing. Not intriguing, Tom.

Horrifying. And I mean horrifying. At least the end was. I can tell you now, seeing the war has been over all these years. I certainly would. I'd like to tell Jonesy. Used to be such a cheerful bloke.
