Beeker's Barn

Around Dodge City and in the territory on West, there's just one way to handle the killers and the spoilers, and that's where the U.S. Marshal and the smell of gun smoke. Gun smoke, starring William Conrad, the story of the violence that moved West with young America, and the story of a man who moved with it.

I'm that man, Matt Dillon, United States Marshal. The first man they look for and the last they want to meet It's a chancey job And it makes a man watchful And a little lonely This ain't the smoothest wagon trail I ever seen but He'll save us a couple hours known cross country this way

Don't worry about me. Will I'll be all right? It's just I don't like the looks of that storm not this time of year There's a lot of snow in them clouds You think we can beat this charm to the line track?

I've watched you. You sure? Of course I'm sure. Come on, you, huh? Here! As soon as we get to the top of this rise, you'll see it. Here! Ho! Ho! It's burned. Every last stick of it burned.

Well, what are we gonna do? Some hunter, some drifter, maybe left to fire without sand, and it now is gone. I guess one of them has to head for dodge then. We'd be driving all night.

We can't stay out here. We gotta find shelter. I know. Must be a ranch house somewhere. It's just one that I know of. Well then, let's... No. No, we ain't going there. We don't have much choice, Harmony.

Well, I couldn't. I just couldn't. Harmony. That's the only ranch within 15 miles to drive. Four hours more in this wind and cold might just be too much. Like I say, Harmony, we just don't have no choice.
