The Golden Gate Quartet Sings 031

I hear those echoes calling, I hear those golden voices. Say this to Tom Scott speaking, and those voices belong to the Golden Gate Quartet. They'd like to sing another program of spirituals for your listening pleasure.

As you know, these songs, the spirituals, had their origin in the Bible, a book as modest as nature, yet as nourishing as bread itself. Among the Bible stories set to song is the crossing of the Red Sea, David and Goliath, Samson slaying the Philistine, Adam and Eve, the story of Nicodemus and many more.

These are songs based on the book of books, interpreted for you by the world-famous Golden Gate Quartet. Sing me! Have you ever seen such a man as this, who gave up himself to come down and die?

He gave up himself to come down to die just to save you from the burning fire. Behold Lord and the Bridegroom, come and lift the dead up Your voice is crying out loud and be ready Be ready when the Bridegroom comes, it to meet him in the air Then be Lord and the Bridegroom

Your voice is crying out loud and be ready Be ready when the Bridegroom comes, it to meet him in the air Well you think loose and fall Just to meet you at the judgment bar of God Then behold Behold Lord of the bright grooms Come lift up, your voices cry out loud Then be ready, be ready when the bright grooms

Come and to meet Him in the air Then behold Behold Lord of the bright grooms Come and lift up, your voices crying out loud Then be ready, be ready when the bright room comes If you ever seen such a man as this Who gave up himself to come down, gave up himself to come down and die
