Tired of the everyday grind, ever dream of a life of romantic adventure, want to get away from it all. We offer you escape. Escape, designed to free you from the four walls of today for a half hour of high adventure.

But miles from your own lives, waiting for the enemy who will lead you to your destination, while the danger to you and your men becomes more acute. For if you are discovered, the only road of escape will be dead.

So listen now as escape brings you the thirteenth truck based on the story of Captain Douglas M. Smith. Some of the men called it a joyride. Two days before we left headquarters at Cabritt Egypt, Sickle Tobruk, sneaked across into Nazi-held territory.

Destination, a Nazi airfield a hundred miles behind enemy lines. A joyride? The next 24 hours could turn our army truck into a hearse. Just six of us in that truck, Sergeant Healy, a corporal, Three enlisted men, Hutchins, Kwame and Kofi, and myself, Captain Paul Graham, you and Sarni. I was the only American in the group, the other is Dr. Kumbry Zaythani.

As a unit we were called Desert Commandos, our business? Sabotage. How are you, Desert? Easy, Desert Sergeant. Didn't say it, Captain. Sorry, sir. Break an axle, we're in big trouble. Listen to it. I think there was an appointment, Joy-Ridewood.

Uh, Captain. What? What? I was thinking, the man been wondering what they're in for this trip. Well, I'll hear about it tonight when we stop. That'll make him feel brighter. If a man's gonna die, it makes it feel better if he knows why.

Happy Brown, a plane, a plane! Where? East, about eight thousand. I'll pick him up for the glass. Master Schmidt! Don't tell yet you fall! Well, I'm sergeant, I'll have those rocks, hurry. Yep. The truck covered man and climb up for a reason he does!
