ep06 A Rival Singing Group Forms

As you think of me, I want you to sing On the bright and life in sight Down our way, a group of folks gather For some real old-fashioned singing and visit Their little town is just about the best you can find It's your town, and in their everyday living Their thoughts and dreams are the same as yours

This is the evening for singing practice And it's to be held as usual in the parlor of Eli and Jenny Jenkins. But right now Ben Potts, base member of the singing group, is in his feed store.

And patience, people, I rush us in to tell him something that just can't wait to leave him. Ben, Ben, have you heard the news? Oh, hello, patience. I ain't hear no good news and I don't want to hear no bad news.

You'll want to hear this all right. What's the worst thing you could imagine? Let me see now. Maybe you're losing your voice? Oh man, wasn't that really such bad news to you? Nope, not really.

Well, this is worse than that. Pete Baxter is organizing another singing group. Eh, eh, what do you mean? I mean that every night this week, Lucy Masters and Dan Calvin and a lot of others have been meeting at Pete's house and practicing singing.

Well, gee, hossevit. Don't they know that we are the same group down our way? That's just what I'd like to tell them. I'd say Pete, you don't never need to think you can take the place of Eli Jenkins and his singing.

That's what I'd say too. Why the very ID, the young whipper snapper? Pete ain't even born under the right sign to lead singing. Now if he was born under Taurus like Eli, I mean... I don't matter, none.
