Part Three

There wasn't time. The sea hybrids attacked us, but we got away. Well, the ones in there won't be bothering anyone anymore. Creatures in there? Yes, and by the sound of things, it devoured them all. A familiar kill.

No, I think it must be arresting. You must tell me what's been happening. In a moment. Monica, you and Julian keep strengthening that barricade. Nissa and I will start blocking the stone room. And the arthroom. It can climb through the wall, remember.

We're not going to be able to stop them getting out, are we? Nissa. We could telephone for help? No one could reach us out here before it's way too late. Always assuming anyone actually believed what we had to tell them, of course.

Maybe we should drive to Anchorage and get help. Better yet, just keep driving until there's 49 states and Canada between us in this place. Those monsters are out there. They stopped us, nearly killed us.

This house must be isolated. We can't leave it before we've made it as secure as we can. We cannot prevent the spirits from leaving if that is their wish. They're not spirits, Julian. They're animals, as real as you and I.

No, no, the stories from the distant time, they're true. Coming through again. Sedan's spirit. It's possible that the creature's energy levels were strong enough to affect the racial unconsciousness of the people that first came here, even 25,000 years ago.

Perhaps the stories were attempts to interpret those feelings. No. Gabbric was right. Ask him. He will tell you. Where is Gabbric? Oh. Gabbric's dead. There. I'm afraid so. That creature in there. Where's Brett? He wasn't well, he went outside.
