Destination Freedom Listen, it's the Freedom Bell It's the Freedom Bell, my friends, and this is Paul Revere called back from the shadows by the sound of the Freedom Bell to try again a warning That the price of freedom is eternal vigious Destination Freedom is presented by station WMAQ in the interest of human freedom the world over
Paul Revere is the symbol of warning, ready to ride down the skies to shout an alarm. His destination now and forever, freedom. Today is Christmas Eve. Tomorrow most of the civilized world will pause to celebrate the birthday of Jesus, the Son of God, sent by him to save the world. But then, as now, the
world scene bent on its own destruction, and Jesus was destroyed by it. So most men, even yet, sacrifice good and perpetuate evil, from the littlest act to the biggest need the world is permeated with evil. It is small wonder that peace on earth and goodwill toward men remain elusive goals. It is of greater wonder that man has not despaired, that he is willing
to continue the search for peace, that he is ready to do battle, to help himself and others to find it. In spite of himself, man's heart must bother the desire, the need for peace. There's Frank Johnson at his newsstand, busy selling newspapers and magazines on this Christmas Eve. You pass such a man on the street, you look at him, and make certain observations,
based on what you see. Sometimes you're right. Most times you're wrong. For no man can thoroughly describe another man from his outward characteristics. To know the complete man. You must know his thoughts. Frank Johnson has been blind for over thirty years. But day after day there he stands. What are his thoughts on this Christmas Eve?
