What happens

Henry Morgan, a pirate later knighted and made governor of Jamaica, is the central figure of this episode. Spanish governor Don Pietro Pizarro learns that his treasure ship, captained by Cortes, has been seized by Morgan's men during a storm. Pizarro is furious that the Aztec necklace, which belongs to his daughter Dolores, was among the treasure, and he swears she will have it back. Aboard Morgan's ship, a dispute over the loot breaks out, and two of the crew plot against their captain. As Port Royal comes into view, Morgan is attacked in a dark lane and a mysterious stranger intervenes to save him.

The Caribbean Sea, the Spanish city of Havana in Cuba, and the British port of Port Royal on Jamaica during the 17th century.

Characters: Henry Morgan, Don Pietro Pizarro, Cortes, Dolores Pizarro, Hanson Burley

Listen for: Pizarro's vow to recover the Aztec necklace, and the rough talk of the crew as they plot against Morgan.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
