What happens

Abbott and Costello perform a New Year's Eve broadcast from Hollywood, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello trading wordplay and comic routines throughout. Costello visits a fortune-teller who makes absurd predictions, and the two discuss football, with Costello claiming to be a former captain. Abbott and Costello then wander out into the night and end up wrecking a stranger's house. The show includes sponsor messages for PDQ gasoline, singing from Susan Miller and Mary Malick, and a New Year's greeting closing the segment. The episode originally aired on December 31, 1947, on NBC and ABC.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
