What happens
Costello brings a stray dog into Abbott's office and wants to keep it, and Abbott insists it must go. After an auction on the street sells the dog for next to nothing, the dog's owner, Mr. Martin, turns out to value it highly. Costello takes a job at Mr. Morton's pet shop to pay the $200 price. Their stay there is full of mishaps with customers and animals, and a dog show prize becomes their plan to settle the debt. The episode is part of the Abbott and Costello series, first broadcast on November 2, 1944, on NBC and ABC, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
