What happens
Lou Costello prepares a Christmas party at his home, but his invitations are misunderstood and his guests turn him down one by one. Bud Abbott helps with the preparations, including a Christmas tree that Lou has mounted through his ceiling. Lou's girlfriend Lena, actress Betsy Mae Mucho and others decline his invitations. Abbott and Costello, on NBC and ABC, starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, with Joe Kirk, Elvia Allman and Connie Haines, dramatizes these comic mishaps in the series' Christmas-season episode aired December 20, 1945. Lou is left alone on Christmas Eve, and the story turns to his memories of a childhood letdown.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
