What happens
Lou Costello plays a bumbling fireman under Bud Abbott's new captaincy at a firehouse in Glendale. Abbott tries to whip his recruit into shape with exercise and vitamins, but Costello's mix-ups with words and his swallowed candy camera keep the firehouse in chaos. Their routine is interrupted by a stranded actress and a surprise fire call, sending the crew racing to rescue a woman in a burning house. The broadcast aired on NBC and ABC on December 6, 1945, with Abbott and Costello leading the cast alongside Connie Haines and Elvia Allman.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
