What happens

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello run a struggling drugstore, where Lou's mix-ups with customers and inventory keep causing trouble. When their landlady, Mrs. Niles, demands overdue rent by noon the next day, the two find a sack of uranium on a shelf and consider a way to raise the money. Lou is drawn into a scheme involving the idea of an atomic bomb, and a visiting scientist, Professor Melonhead, becomes part of the plan. The Abbott and Costello program aired on NBC and ABC on March 7, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
