What happens
Lou Costello, who lives in a run-down shack, decides he wants his own house, and Bud Abbott tries to help him through the process. Costello misunderstands the financial terms Abbott explains, from chattels and escrow to a guaranteed title deed, and the two of them visit a real estate salesman and a contractor. Abbott and Costello's routines turn on confusion over words and money. This episode of the Abbott and Costello comedy series first aired on April 24, 1947, on NBC and ABC, and stars Bud Abbott and Lou Costello.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
