What happens

Abbott and Costello perform on their radio show with guest Lana Turner, but the broadcast is held up by a series of mishaps before it can begin. Costello is pressed by NBC staff to undergo a physical examination before he is allowed into the studio, and an insurance salesman tries to sell him a policy. Meanwhile Abbott tries to keep Costello on schedule, and the two men argue over almost everything. The program is part of the Abbott and Costello series, broadcast on NBC and ABC on November 4, 1943, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello as the leads.

Characters: Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Lana Turner, Mrs. Niles, Fogel, Dr. Jones, Evan, Birchbach

Listen for: Listen for the examination scene with the self-described doctor, and Costello's running argument with Abbott over the insurance policy and the show's timing.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
