What happens

Charlie Starbuck, a radio operator at the Federal Bureau of Missing Persons, picks up a strange signal on a restricted frequency that claims to come from the moon. The message asks for help from Cornelius Otterburn, a physicist reported missing in 1945. Bureau records chief Henry Timkin is intrigued and invites science writer Jefferson Fylo to investigate. The story is part of the X Minus One series, first broadcast on May 29, 1955, on NBC.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
