What happens
Jeff Coffin, a wealthy young man, is drugged in a Boston bar and wakes aboard the freighter Michael M. Raffity, bound for a fifteen-year deep space run. Jeff tries to convince the captain, Howell, that he is a Coffin and must be returned to Earth, but he is put to work as a crewman alongside the sailor Morton and a young shipmate named Joey. The mate, Black, and the captain treat the crew harshly, and the crew begins to plan a mutiny. The transcript breaks off as the crew prepares to act against the officers.
