What happens
Bob, a Columbia student, is approached on 114th Street by an invisible alien called a Valeduzian Durg, which warns him of danger and offers to protect him. The Durg predicts accidents and urges him to avoid places and actions, and Bob grows frustrated as the warnings multiply and his life becomes more restricted. The Durg explains that protection itself brings new risks, and soon Bob is hunted by a creature called a gamper. The story is part of the X Minus One radio series, first broadcast on March 20, 1957, and is read by William Redfield as Bob, Kelly Read as Charlie, and William Keene as the Durg.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
