What happens
Elwood Caswell, a jet bus operator, walks through New York with a loaded gun, intending to kill his friend Magnussen. He buys a home therapy machine called a Rex regenerator from a store clerk, Haskins, who hands over a floor model by mistake. At home, the machine begins questioning him, speaking in odd Martian terms about a Goracy and theme desire. X Minus One presents Bad Medicine, a story from Galaxy Science Fiction written by Finn O'Donovan and adapted for radio by George Lefferts, first broadcast on July 10, 1956 on NBC. The cast includes Cliff Carpenter and Joseph Julian.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
