What happens
Hunter Rivers and his partner, the Raja of Junpur, guide wealthy clients on prehistoric safaris through a time machine at Washington University. Their new client, Courtney James, is a reckless playboy who ignores the rules of the hunt. Holsinger, a timid former grocer, joins the trip hoping to bring home a dinosaur head for his fireplace. The party travels to the middle Cretaceous, about 85 million years ago, where they hunt among duckbills and other reptiles while James's careless shooting keeps causing trouble. Tensions between the men grow as the trip goes on and the hunters face the dangers of the prehistoric world. This is the X Minus One adaptation of L. Sprague de Camp's story, broadcast on NBC on March 7, 1956.
Central Missouri and the middle Cretaceous period, about 85 million years ago, with a time machine at Washington University in St. Louis as the point of departure.

Listen for: The steady warnings from Rivers about James's shooting, and the moment the hunting party meets a tyrannosaur in the ferns.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
