What happens
Dr. Roberts recounts a flight into the unexplored interior of Papua, known to him as New Guinea. Travelling by hydroplane with a pilot, Jackson, and a navigator, Gail, he sets out to reach a tribe no white man has seen. On arriving at a large village, the visitors find the people believe they are a healing spirit sent to cure their sick chief. When the chief dies, the villagers turn on the travellers, and the account of their escape begins.
