What happens

Gordon Pym signs on as a crewman aboard the whaler Grampus, commanded by Captain Benjamin Bernard, an old acquaintance from his youth. Before sailing he is warned by sailors that the captain is dangerously unstable, and on board he finds the crew cruel and the captain increasingly erratic. Pym becomes entangled with a group of men who plot against the captain, while his own old friend Western suffers under his father's harsh discipline. A storm strikes the ship and the crew's situation grows desperate as supplies and hope run low. This is an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym, presented on the Weird Circle series.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
