What happens

Wally Fraser, a freelance news photographer, arrives in Paris from Lisbon and is kissed by a mysterious woman who then vanishes into the airport crowd. An envelope she left in his coat holds an X-ray film of a man's skull with an unusual silver plate, and when a lab attendant reacts oddly, Wally starts to suspect something is wrong. Soon he finds his hotel room ransacked and sees the woman, Marta Varney, making a phone call. Wally tries to turn the situation to his advantage. The Whistler is the series, and this episode aired on March 12, 1950, with William Conrad and Betty Lou Gerson in the cast.

Paris, France, in the rain, including a Lisbon flight arrival, a hotel, a laboratory and the streets near the carousel.

Characters: Wally Fraser, Marta Varney, Mr. Sidney, Dr. Salazar, Dugain

Listen for: The woman's kiss on the plane and the X-ray film slipped into Wally's pocket.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
