What happens
Songwriter Ted Gray resents his partner Al Wilson, who he believes has won the affection of Corinne Mitchell, the woman Ted loves. Ted plans to kill Al so that he will own their songs outright and can marry Corinne. He arranges witnesses to establish his whereabouts around the time of the killing and visits Al's apartment with a plan he is confident will succeed. Ted considers his plan airtight as he goes about his day. This is an episode of The Whistler, first broadcast on November 30, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
