What happens
Ruth Walker, secretary at a nightclub, is the mistress of her employer Charles Harrison, who is married. When she learns of his habit of carrying the club's weekly proceeds home, she plots with her associate Fred Markle to rob him in his apartment garage. The robbery goes wrong, Harrison is killed, and Ruth begins a new relationship with his brother Bob Faraday, the club's new owner. Fred returns to demand more money, and the story follows Ruth as she tries to keep her secrets hidden while her past catches up with her. The episode is part of the Whistler series, originally broadcast on September 4, 1949.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
