What happens
Frank Davidson, purchasing agent for the Davidson Manufacturing Company, is caught skimming money through kickbacks by the racketeer Jim Duran, who demands repayment. Frank asks his wealthy uncle George Davidson for $3,900 to settle the debt, but George refuses and threatens to cut him out of his will. Frank then turns to his girlfriend Helene, and together they devise a scheme to make Bill Lawton believe that his wife Mary is involved with George. The Whistler radio series presents this 1948 episode, first broadcast on February 11, 1948, with an unnamed cast. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
