What happens
Eddie Ford, a small-time crook on Second Avenue, and his childhood sweetheart Ruth Sprague, a nightclub dancer, plan to use her charms to rob a wealthy visitor named Frank Ferrari. Ruth leads Frank into a dark alley, where Eddie knocks him out and takes his money. The money includes a hundred dollar bill, which Eddie later spends and which strains his relationship with Ruth. Eddie then buys counterfeit bills from a wholesaler named Bill Larimer and begins passing them around town. The episode is part of The Whistler radio series, first broadcast on May 21, 1945.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
