What happens

Corey Evans, a fugitive wanted for murder, flees the countryside near Connersville after killing an elderly woman, Mrs. Ainsford, during a robbery at her home. Pursued by a sheriff and dogs through a marsh, he escapes by train toward Denville, where he seeks help from his girlfriend, Jenny. Jenny is reluctant to assist him, and Corey must decide his next move while the police close in. The Whistler, a radio anthology series sponsored by Signal Oil, presents this episode, which first aired on November 4, 1951. Bill Forman stars as the Whistler, with Gigi Pearson and Bill Boucher among the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
