What happens

Desperate, he joins a smuggling operation run by the glamorous Havana Lee, shipping a valuable drug into the United States by boat. Fargo's partner, George, is a suspicious rival who threatens to expose him, and the smuggling run grows increasingly dangerous. The episode is part of the long-running radio series The Whistler, first broadcast on August 4, 1955, and the narrator opens the story by promising strange tales from the shadows.
Havana, Cuba, and the Florida coast, 1950s
Characters: Clifford Fargo, Havana Lee, George, Jose, Alvarez
Listen for: Listen for the scene where Fargo first arranges to meet Havana Lee at the Costa Hotel and the tense boat trip to Florida.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
