What happens
Margaret Fales, an out-of-work actress, takes a job from agent Sam Walker escorting a casket to Prentice Ville. On the train, the casket is loaded at San Orzo, a station shrouded in fog. Soon after, a prison escapee emerges from the casket and seizes her, forcing her to accompany him as he flees the police. The story follows her as she is drawn deeper into his escape, uncertain whether she will survive it.
A foggy city and rail station in the early 1950s, a small town called Prentice Ville, and nearby rural country roads.
