What happens

Los Angeles industrialist A.R. Peters lies gravely ill, and his partner Alan Fairmont and secretary John Blackburn both race to find his estranged daughter, Celia Peters, before her 21st birthday. Fairmont hires private detectives Marukian and Pat Sheffield to trace her in New York, where the search turns up a model's postcard and several leads. Each man pursues the girl with his own plan, and the rivals begin crossing one another's trails in the city. Their hunt grows tangled as the deadline approaches, and the story ends with the search still in progress.

Characters: Alan Fairmont, John Blackburn, A.R. Peters, Celia Peters, Marukian, Pat Sheffield

Listen for: Listen for the rival searches for Celia Peters and the deadline before her 21st birthday.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
