What happens
Clint Garvey doubts that his close friend Eddie Lamar committed suicide, but the police have closed the case and tell him to drop it. Garvey later becomes a hitchhiker's victim on a highway north of San Diego and ends up in Chalmers Cove, where he mails a confession letter meant to embarrass the police department. He then races to recover the letter before it reaches the San Francisco Time Star. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
