What happens
Van Barkley, a young engineer new to a Western city, meets a glamorous blonde named Doris Ridgley after a Saturday night movie and accepts her invitation to her large house. In the library he finds a dead man hidden in a closet, and Doris forces him to help dig a grave in the garden. Van escapes to the beach and reaches his hotel room, but the next morning a mysterious envelope arrives with money. Soon Van must decide whether Doris is a killer, and whether he can prove his own innocence. The Whistler is a radio mystery series, and this episode was broadcast on the Signal Oil Company program on July 29, 1951.
