What happens
Charles Connolly gives a well-received speech on reckless driving to a group of business leaders, then drives home with his wife Sheila after drinking. In a storm, his car strikes a man on a country road. Charles decides to hide the body instead of reporting the accident, fearing it will ruin his chances for a promotion. The next morning, a state highway patrolman arrives at the house, and Charles begins to suspect that the officers know more than they say. The episode is part of The Whistler series, first aired on October 8, 1947, and this portion ends with the arrival of a visitor who threatens to expose the secret.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
