What happens

Warren Coates, secretary to wealthy Manuel Ramirez, plans to flee San Diego after secretly embezzling about $50,000 from his employer. Before he can leave, Helen Ramirez, Manuel's wife, confronts him with proof of his thefts and demands he rob the Ramirez safe of $200,000 in cash that night. Warren agrees, reluctantly, and drives with Helen to the isolated Ramirez estate through a storm. The Whistler series, broadcast on the Signal Oil Program, presents this story from its January 29, 1950 episode.

Listen for: Helen's blackmail of Warren and the storm-soaked drive to the Ramirez estate

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
