What happens

Harry Simpson rents a furnished apartment whose previous tenant, Frank Colter, was reported killed in a fire. Hidden in a framed photograph he finds a stash of cash, and soon Rosanna Robin, Colter's former girlfriend, arrives asking about it. The Whistler series aired this episode, Bright Future, on August 18, 1948, and the transcript names no lead actors. Harry makes calls to a private detective named Boyle, who has been tailing a man named Jameson, and Harry's plans grow more complicated as he begins a relationship with Rosanna. The transcript breaks off here, so the rest of the story is not described.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
