What happens
Craig McElvey, a foreign correspondent, arrives in Hong Kong by ship after leaving Calcutta. He meets his old acquaintance Alphonse Solendrum, who offers him $50,000 to file a false news dispatch about a rare Tibetan musk deal, which would help Solendrum secure funds from his London firm. McElvey agrees, but a cable from his editor dismisses him, and he must decide how to get the story filed under another correspondent's name. The Whistler series presents this episode, which first aired on January 27, 1952, as a tale of deception and desperate choices.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
