What happens
George Canto, a mining prospector in Juneau, tricks big Mike Brennan into a fifty-fifty partnership in the Blue Legend claim, a rich ore strike near Blue Lake. Canto is drawn to Mike's wife, Helen, who has grown unhappy in her marriage. Mike has a weak heart and is warned against drinking and high altitude, yet Canto keeps urging him to make the trip. The story follows the partners as they fly to the mine, where Mike collapses on the flight. Canto's plans and the question of what happened to Mike are still unresolved when the segment ends.
