What happens

In San Francisco, Dave Leonard, living under his new name, learns that Tommy Northcoat, an old acquaintance from the East, has recognized him as Marvin Knowles, a man who once served prison time and was declared dead years earlier. Northcoat threatens to expose his past, and Dave feels his marriage to Sue and his job are at risk. The Whistler is the series title, and the episode aired on New Year's Eve, 1950, as a transcribed broadcast. The story follows Dave's mounting panic and the choices he weighs as the pressure builds around him.

Listen for: Dave's attempts to get Tommy to leave him alone and his conversations with Sue as the pressure builds

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
