What happens

Mark Croner, owner of the Glenbrook stable, has secretly kept identical twin colts, both named Wonder Boy, hidden from the racing world. He and his trainer Andy Collins are using the arrangement to control which horse runs and how it performs. Mark is juggling Mimi, Andy's daughter, and Lynn Carlton, a woman he is drawn to, while Colonel Jolly, a gambler, presses him for information about the horse. This episode of The Whistler, a mystery series from 1948, aired on October 3 of that year. Mark's scheme grows more tangled as the big Wellington handicap approaches, and the race brings a sudden, unexpected turn.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
