What happens

Marty Fisher, a prisoner, learns that his wife Helen has skipped his visiting day, and his fellow inmate the Baron hints that she is seeing a man named Johnny Rigo. The Baron also presses Marty about the $75,000 taken in a payroll robbery that Marty is suspected of hiding. Marty's trust in his wife and in the Baron is tested as the visits continue and the Baron's offers grow more pointed. The Whistler series, first broadcast on March 27, 1949, presents this story with its narrator guiding the listener through the tension between the prisoners.

A state prison, with its visitors' room and prison yard, and a city street where Johnny Rigo lives.

Characters: Marty Fisher, Helen Fisher, The Baron, Johnny Rigo, Nick Hellman

Listen for: Listen for the Baron's hints about the $75,000 and Helen's reasons for missing her visits.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
