What happens
Whit Summers returns to the small coastal town of Lansbury after years away, claiming his inheritance from his late father, whose estate is controlled by his stern uncle Josh. Townspeople remain suspicious of him, and his growing romance with Myra complicates his standing with the town and with Jimmy Bentley, a family favorite. Whit pushes to win the town's acceptance while tensions with his uncle mount. The Whistler narrates the story, and the episode is part of the series, first aired on January 20, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
