What happens

Lynn Blakinsley, a young woman, follows a man calling himself Alan Alden to Singapore and into the Port Royal Hotel, where she talks her way into his reserved room. Searching the room, she finds a key taped to a ceiling fan blade and sets out to reach a safety deposit box at a local bank. Alden, whose real name she later learns is Lee Rainey, proposes a partnership, and Lynn must decide whom to trust. The Whistler series, first broadcast on October 21, 1951, presents this episode as a mystery of identity and money in a foreign port.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
